AfterPlay Privacy Policy

AfterPlay records your racket-sports sessions and stores them so you can rewatch and share them. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Your account
AfterPlay uses Sign in with Apple. We store the identifier Apple gives us to link recordings to your account. A name you share is kept on your device for display. An Apple sign-in token may contain your email address; AfterPlay processes that token to authenticate you but does not retain your name or email address in its server database. We retain an Apple authorization credential solely so AfterPlay can ask Apple to revoke Sign in with Apple when you delete your account. We delete that credential when account deletion completes, and do not use it to access other Apple data.
What we store
The videos you record, including the audio recorded with them, and basic details about each one (title, date, duration, size, and the timestamps of moments you choose to mark). Recorded video, audio, and marked-moment timestamps are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure on our behalf. We also store an opaque upload identifier, allowance period, plan code, a temporary reservation, and the recording duration AfterPlay measures and the service accounts. These values enforce the monthly recording allowance without counting the same upload twice.
AfterPlay Plus purchase history
If you use AfterPlay Plus, we store purchase history tied to your account: product and transaction identifiers, the Sandbox or Production environment, subscription status, and related purchase, expiration, grace-period, or revocation dates. We use this information only for App Functionality to verify and provide subscription access, and never for tracking. AfterPlay does not collect payment-card information; Apple processes the payment.
Optional automatic sharing for improvement
You can turn on Share recordings to improve AfterPlay. When it is on, each completed, ready AfterPlay recording is given the same normal share link available in the app, and a notification with that link is sent to AfterPlay's private developer Discord. Authorized AfterPlay team members can use the link to view the original recording, including its audio, for first-party product and model improvement. This is optional and is not required to record, store, watch, export, or share a session yourself. You can enable it only if you confirm that the account holder is at least 18, every recognizable person in the recordings is an adult, and everyone visible or audible granted permission to share the recordings for this purpose.
AfterPlay does not use automatically shared recordings for advertising, identity recognition, or model training by outside providers, and does not provide them to third-party AI services. We will ask for new permission before using recordings for a materially different purpose.
The Discord channel is private, but the recording link is a bearer link: anyone who obtains it can view the original video and audio. The Discord message includes AfterPlay, capture time, clip count, duration when available, and the link. It suppresses link previews and omits the recording title and account, session, and clip identifiers.
Turning the setting off stops future automatic messages, removes delivered Discord messages, and immediately disables links created only for this setting. A normal share link you explicitly created remains until you turn it off. Deleting a recording or your account disables all of its links, schedules Discord-message removal, and follows the normal media-deletion process.
AfterPlay keeps your current setting and its decision audit while your account exists. The audit is linked to your account and records the disclosure version, whether you enabled or disabled the setting, app build, locale, time, and your three confirmations about age and permission. We keep this record to enforce, honor, and demonstrate your sharing choice. A resolved delivery record stays while its sharing choice remains current so AfterPlay does not post the same recording again. After that choice is replaced or the recording is deleted, the resolved record is normally kept for up to 90 days. If a Discord-message removal fails or its result is ambiguous, AfterPlay retains the delivery and recording-reference metadata plus cleanup state needed to locate and resolve it. These records do not contain an extra copy of your recording.
Support reports and diagnostics
If you choose Report a Problem, you can describe what happened and decide whether to include AfterPlay’s redacted operational diagnostics. Those diagnostics can include the app and iOS versions, device model, timestamps, network and device conditions, recording and upload events, opaque session or segment identifiers, and bounded summaries of crashes, hangs, disk writes, and peak memory use. They do not include call stacks, raw crash payloads, recorded video, recorded audio, Apple Health samples, authentication credentials, share links, or local file paths.
A submitted report is linked to your AfterPlay account so we can investigate it. AfterPlay returns a report reference you can include if you contact support separately. We keep support reports for up to 30 days unless you delete your account sooner. You can also use the system share sheet instead of submitting to AfterPlay; in that case, you control where the exported diagnostic file is sent. To alert our private support triage channel, Discord receives only the report reference and fixed category. Discord does not receive your description, diagnostics, account, session or segment identifiers, footage, audio, credentials, share links, or local file paths from the report.
Camera and microphone
The camera is used for the live setup preview and sessions you choose to record. The microphone is used only while recording those sessions. AfterPlay does not capture either in the background on its own.
Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, AfterPlay reads heart-rate and active-energy samples that match the time of a recorded court session and displays a post-session summary. Apple Health samples are processed on your iPhone and are not uploaded to our servers or included in shared video links. You can change AfterPlay’s Health access at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
Sharing
Sessions are private unless you create a share link. Anyone with the link can view that video. You can turn off the link in the app at any time without deleting your session; access through that link is disabled immediately. Turning sharing back on creates a new link, and the old link stays disabled.
Service providers
Cloudflare hosts the account database, recorded video and audio, and public share pages. We require our service providers to use this data only to provide their services to AfterPlay and to protect it consistently with this policy. Discord receives two kinds of private alerts: an automatic-sharing alert containing AfterPlay, capture time, clip count, duration when available, and the normal bearer share link; and a support-triage alert containing a report reference and fixed category. Discord never receives the video or audio bytes. When an authorized developer follows the link, the developer's browser retrieves the media directly from Cloudflare. The automatic-sharing alert omits the recording title and account, session, and clip identifiers. The support alert omits the report description and diagnostics.
App privacy labels
For Apple's app privacy disclosures, AfterPlay identifies ten data types as linked to you. Photos or Videos and Audio Data are used for App Functionality and Analytics. User ID is used only for App Functionality. Other User Content—including recording titles and the three automatic-sharing age and permission confirmations—is used for App Functionality. Product Interaction—including setting and decision events—is used for App Functionality and Analytics. Customer Support, Other Diagnostic Data, Crash Data, and Performance Data are used for App Functionality. Purchase History, including product and transaction identifiers, environment, subscription status, and related dates, is linked to your account and used only for App Functionality. AfterPlay does not use any of these data types to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not collect payment-card information.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your data, show ads, use third-party advertising or analytics trackers, or use recordings for identity recognition or model training by outside providers.
Keeping and deleting your data
Under the free V1 storage terms, the service accounts for up to twelve hours of recording duration AfterPlay measures in each UTC calendar month. A new cloud backup temporarily reserves the allowance; when it becomes playable, the service replaces that reservation with the recording duration AfterPlay measures and the service accounts. A recording admitted while the account is still below the allowance may finish even when it takes the total over twelve hours. Waiting recordings retry when capacity is released or the next month begins. Deleting an unfinished backup releases its temporary reservation. Deleting a playable recording does not restore its finalized usage for that month.
A free V1 recording is available for 30 days after its cloud upload first becomes ready. Its share links and account playback stop at the displayed expiration time, and AfterPlay then removes its video, audio, poster, share records, marked moments, and session metadata in bounded cleanup batches. Recordings with media already uploaded by earlier test versions without this storage contract are grandfathered and remain until you delete the session or account. Allowance records are normally removed within 90 days after their period ends, or sooner when you delete your account.
Incomplete cloud upload parts are kept temporarily for recovery and become automatically eligible for removal after about 30 days. Deleting a session or account disables its share links immediately, schedules delivered automatic Discord messages for removal, and schedules its recorded video, audio, and metadata for deletion. Your automatic-sharing setting and decision audit are kept while your account exists, including its disclosure, enable or disable choice, app build, locale, time, and three age and permission confirmations, so we can enforce, honor, and demonstrate your choice. A resolved delivery record stays while its sharing choice remains current to prevent a duplicate post. After that choice is replaced or the recording is deleted, the resolved record is normally kept for up to 90 days. A failed or ambiguous Discord cleanup retains the delivery and recording-reference metadata plus cleanup state needed to resolve it. Large deletions may finish in batches. To keep a delayed network request from recreating deleted data, we retain only deletion-safety identifiers—not recordings—normally for 90 days, and longer only while deletion cleanup must be retried.
You can delete a session from its menu. To delete your account and everything associated with it, use Settings → Delete Account in the app, or email us at davidhsiao510@icloud.com.
Your choices
You decide when to record, connect Apple Health, create a share link, or submit a support report with diagnostics. You also decide whether to turn on Share recordings to improve AfterPlay. Turning it off stops future automatic sharing, removes delivered Discord messages, and disables links created only for that setting; share links you explicitly created remain under your control. You can turn off a manual share link or delete its session in AfterPlay. You can review or revoke camera, microphone, motion, Photos, and Health access in the iPhone Settings or Health apps. Revoking a system permission stops future access but does not delete recordings already stored in your account; use the session or account deletion controls for that.
Children
AfterPlay is not directed at children under 13. The optional automatic-sharing setting is available only to an account holder who confirms they are at least 18 and that every recognizable person is an adult.
